Gareth Bale was in action for Wales last night in a World Cup qualifier against Belgium, coming up against the likes of Toby Alderweireld and former teammate Jan Vertonghen.
The Welshman got off to a good start by providing an assist for Harry Wilson inside the first 10 minutes of the match to put Wales 1-0 up.
However, Belgium soon found the ascendency and took control of the game, going 2-1 within 28 minutes and adding a third before full-time.
Gareth Bale was taken off in the latter stages of the match when Belgium were 3-1 up and it is always a concern for fans to see the Welsh wizard departing early.
However, the on-loan Spurs attacker told the media that he had not picked up any knock or injury, he was just struggling with fatigue with six minutes to go after putting in a big shift for his country.
Bale still has two more matches to play with Wales before he returns to North London from international duty.
He said (Sky Sports): “Nothing’s wrong. 3-1 down with five or six minutes to go, I was a bit tired from the shift I put in, and we have two more games to go, so no injury problems.”
