There are just eight days remaining of the summer transfer window and it remains to be seen whether there will be more activity involving Tottenham Hotspur.
Reports have emerged that Tottenham are targeting a move for Wolves’ winger Adama Traore and are set to step up their interest this week by trying to bring him to North London on loan with a view to a permanent move worth up to £40million (The Telegraph).
Tottenham have also been linked with a move for an established striker to act as a back-up for Harry Kane (Football.London), with plenty of speculation still surrounding the future of the 28-year-old.
Football.London‘s Alasdar Gold has now revealed that Tottenham are unlikely to bring in a new forward if they do manage to land Traore.
It is said that it will be a case of signing one or the other, with Spurs having encountered roadblocks in their striker hunt with efforts to land Dusan Vlahovic or Lautaro Martinez having been thwarted by Fiorentina and Inter Milan.
Traore’s arrival could see a change of system employed by Nuno Espiritio Santo, with Son acting as a strike partner for Kane, while the Spanish international is also able to operate as a second forward if required.
