The Daily Mail have revealed that Harry Kane’s brother, Charlie Kane was not the striker’s representative when he signed a six-year contract with Tottenham back in 2018.
Kane certainly made his intentions to join Manchester City clear this summer but despite the striker allegedly pushing for the move, the Premier League champions were not able to agree on a fee with Spurs.
The 28-year-old took to social media to reveal last week that he will be staying with the North London club this summer and he made his first start of the season against Pacos De Ferreira on Thursday, netting a brace in a 3-0 win.
Kane has been criticised by some for appointing his brother as his agent, with some journalists blaming Charlie for not adding a release clause in his Spurs contract.
However, The Mail have now revealed that the six-year deal that Kane signed in the build-up to the 2018 World Cup was negotiated by the striker’s previous representatives, Unique Sports Management.
It is explained that after signing the contract, Kane left USM to join the agency set up by his brother, CK66 Player Management, for whom he is their only known client.
Spurs Web Opinion
A lot of commentators and even Spurs fans have been extremely vicious to Charlie Kane on social media without knowing the facts of what went on this summer.
Whatever one thinks of whether Charlie is competent enough to represent his brother, subjecting him to a social media pile-on was completely unnecessary.
