Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter to share his reaction following Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.
Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the Premier League came to an end in emphatic fashion following a toothless display at Selhurst Park.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side lacked creativity and urgency to get the ball into attacking areas with Lucas Moura being their only shining light.
Roberts pointed the finger at Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso and Davinson Sanchez who all missed the fixture and are currently in Croatia after their trip to South America to play international football ruled them out of the Palace clash due to quarantine rules within the UK.
The former defender believes the trio have let their team-mates down while also believing that senior players who took to the field against Palace should have done more to look to offer calming advice to Japhet Tanganga.
The academy product was sent off minutes after picking up a yellow card when he dived into a tackle, only to be shown a second booking and his marching orders which also rules him out of next weekend’s derby against Chelsea.
We got beat up today @JTanganga99 needs to learn where we’re our experience players telling him to calm down but the 3 players going to Argentina and Columbia have let the team down today as well
