Some Crewe Alexandria fans were left mightily impressed with J’Neil Bennett’s performance on Saturday as the Spurs youngster starred in their 2-0 win over Burton Albion.
After a couple of impressive seasons for Tottenham’s Under-18s, Bennett was promoted to the Under-23s last season, netting 3 goals and registering 2 assists in 20 games.
The winger, who has the distinction of having scored the first-ever goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the 24 March 2019, during a 3–1 win against Southampton’s under-18s, made his senior debut for Spurs in the first-leg against Pacos de Ferreira last month before joining Crewe on loan.
The youngster has made a solid start to his spell at the Mornflake Stadium and he put in his best performance of the season so far as David Artell’s side registered their first league win of the season on Saturday.
Bennet’s low cross was deflected into the net in the first half to give Crewe the lead before the on-loan Spurs winger secured the win with a solo effort in the 87th minute.

Some Crewe fans on social media raved about the teenager’s display on Saturday:
Thought #crewealex were in control of the game for almost its entirety. Should've scored more goals but the creativity has improved dramatically. Excellent individual performances from the 3 new signings too especially J'Neil Bennett! His goal in the second half was pure class!

Spurs Web Opinion
Bennet has certainly had an impressive start to his time at Crewe. In fact, based on the matches so far, he has arguably looked too good for that level. So, if he keeps up the same level of performances, I would not be surprised if Spurs recalled the 19-year-old in January and loaned him to a Championship club.
