Ledley King has spoken in glowing terms of Christian Eriksen, insisting that the Dane has transformed the Brentford side since arriving.
Eriksen has demonstrated since his return to competitive football that he still possesses the quality that made him one of the Premier League’s best playmakers during his time at Spurs.
The 30-year-old has been linked with a sensational return to North London in the summer when his six-month contract with Brentford runs out (90min).
The Tottenham away contingent gave a great reception to the midfielder during the club’s 0-0 draw at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday and the midfielder admitted after the game that the Lilywhites still hold a special place in his heart (Sky Sports).
Spurs are expected to face competition from the likes of Newcastle United (Northern Echo), Manchester United (Daily Star) and Leicester City (Fabrizio Romano) for the Denmark international’s signature.
King has insisted that the former Tottenham man has not lost any of his quality on the ball.
The Tottenham legend told Premier League Productions about Eriksen: “A player of his quality, coming into the squad.
“I am sure the Brentford players will be looking at him and trying to impress him by raising their game. He has so much quality to him. Two-footed. He can provide assists and it’s great to see him back.
“The quality he has, you don’t lose that. What he would have been lacking is a little bit of sharpness – You can see he hasn’t lost any of his ability.”
Asked about a potential Eriksen return to Spurs, King said: “He’s the type of player that we have missed over the last year or two. The player that can pick the ball up deeper and find the passes.
“We see Harry (Kane) having to do it quite a lot. Eriksen is someone who can do that from deep positions. So, that type of player, for sure. Whether it will be Christian again, I’m not sure. He seems happy where he is.”

Spurs do need an attacking midfielder and given the fact that Eriksen understands Conte’s system and has a connection with the club, this transfer does seem nailed on.
However, the 30-year-old might want to seek assurances from Conte that he would be a regular in the playing eleven as I do not see the Dane fitting into the 3-4-3 that the Italian is currently employing.
