Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has promised supporters further investment in the first team in a message on the eve of the final home Premier League game of the current campaign.
The north Londoners take on Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at lunchtime knowing that a victory will take them above Arsenal into fourth, with the Gunners facing Newcastle United on Tyneside tomorrow evening.
In his letter to supporters, Levy acknowledged how important the investment in the squad during the January transfer window has proven to be following the arrivals of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus, with the pair having slotted seamlessly into the starting eleven.
Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has continued to stop short of confirming his long-term commitment to the club and instead insists that he will hold a meeting with Levy at the end of the season to see if their ambitions are aligned (Football.London).
Levy said in his message on the Tottenham Hotspur website: “When we reported our June 2021 year-end financial results we set out our vision for the Club and underlined that, whilst we had invested significantly in the squad, we needed to improve our recruitment and the January transfer window showed how important this can be. We shall continue to support investment in both our First and Women’s teams and our Academy.
“Regardless of the results of our last three games of this season, I firmly believe we are well positioned to go forward into next season. The desire and determination to see success on the pitch is felt by everyone at the Club.
“I should like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff for their commitment, time and effort that goes into making this Club what it is. We shall continue to work with energy and vigour to make all of our fans around the world proud to support Tottenham Hotspur.”

Whether Spurs finish fourth or fifth, Levy has to prove to Conte that he is prepared to back him to the degree where he believes that the club has a genuine chance of challenging for the Premier League title next season, otherwise we are likely to be back at square one and seeking another manager.
