News about the transfer activity of the senior squad at Tottenham has flooded our social media timelines in recent weeks, but many are turning a blind eye to the future of the youngsters at the club.

New adventures may be in store for many of our youthful talents due to the promising rebuild being constructed at Tottenham this summer.

Looking deeper into where these players could possibly end up this window could allow us to draw conclusions on their current and future positions at the club.

Dane Scarlett

Dubbed ‘phenomenal’ by Jose Mourinho (Daily Mail), Dane Scarlett is undoubtedly Spurs’ most exciting upcoming talent.

Last season, Scarlett stayed in North London and was able to get a taste of first-team football with cameos in the Conference League.

The striker also appeared off the bench in the Premier League against Leeds, whilst also being used in the FA Cup defeat against Middlesborough.

Football London confirmed that Dane Scarlett is expected to head out on loan next season in order to boost his development.

Tottenham are expected to have many approaches from Championship clubs this summer, although a move to League One may suit the 18-year-old forward better.

The decision regarding which club Dane Scarlett will go to on loan next season is a crucial one.

Game time will be key for the Englishman next season and Tottenham should ensure that whichever team he goes to, Scarlett gets a large amount of game time.

League One would look like the most likely destination but if a Championship club could ensure a sufficient amount of minutes for the striker, Tottenham should be keen to explore this option.

Alfie Devine

Since signing from Wigan for £300,000 in 2020 (Football London), Devine has made quite an impression at Hotspur Way.

The midfielder boasted a total of 12 goal contributions in 17 games in Premier League 2 last season (TransferMarkt) which secured him two player of the month nominations in September and March.

It was only last month that news broke out that Antonio Conte had been very impressed with Alfie Devine in training and wanted a new contract sorted out as soon as possible (Athletic).

Along with Scarlett, it is expected that Devine will go out on loan next season to secure precious minutes in his development (Football London).

He also made club history with his goal against Marine in January 2021 and became Tottenham’s youngest ever goalscorer, aged 16 and 163 days (Daily Mail).

A coach at Tottenham who works closely with Devine said (Athletic): “He’s a very good player, a never-say-die player.”

The Athletic confirmed that Devine has been presented with various options this window already, with Championship, League One and Scottish Premiership clubs known to be interested in the teenager.

Even at such a young age, a player of his quality should be getting as much as experience as possible. Hopefully, a loan for the midfielder could replicate the successes of Oliver Skipp’s season at Norwich, pushing Skipp firmly into the first-team fold.

The Scottish Premiership could be an intriguing notion to explore for Devine, with the quality of opposition exceeding the likes available in the lower leagues of England.

Experience against giants Celtic and Rangers can only prove positive for the midfielder’s development and game time would certainly be guaranteed.

Last season, many Premier League youngsters sought the Scottish Premiership as a place to boost both their ability and growth.

Dylan Levitt of Manchester United and Ellis Simms of Everton stood out as key players for their teams last season in Scotland, with both players securing five goals (BBC).

Tottenham will ensure Alfie Devine’s next step will help him mature and strengthen so he can be introduced into first-team football as soon as possible.

Harvey White

White, the oldest of those spoken about so far at 20, also spent all of last season with Tottenham and was on the bench for half of Tottenham’s Premier League outings (FotMob).

Unlike the other two, White has already experienced a loan spell whilst with Portsmouth for the latter part of the 2020/21 season.

His spell at Fratton Park did not go as Tottenham planned as White only managed five starts with Pompey and spent the rest of his time making late cameos off the bench (TransferMarkt).

Due to the overload in midfield, with recent signing Yves Bissouma adding to the ranks, White could partake in another loan move in the search for first-team football elsewhere.

Tottenham will no doubt search for a club that will promise White minutes and not take part in any deal that could emulate the Portsmouth agreement back in 2021.

The midfielder functioned mostly as a defensive-minded player for the greater part of the last Premier League 2 campaign, however, his versatility allows cover in both midfield and left back (TransferMarkt).

In April, Antonio Conte explained how Harvey White had “improved a lot” since his arrival which confirmed his place on the bench for first-team matches (Football London).

Harvey White did not play a minute of football under the Italian which makes a loan spell more attractive for both parties next season (FotMob).
