Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax have agreed to a €30million (£25.8million) transfer fee for Steven Bergwijn, according to Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf.
The report claims that the winger will now sign a five-year contract, keeping him at the Johan Cruijff ArenA until the summer of 2027.
Bergwijn moved to north London in January 2020 in a £27million transfer from PSV Eindhoven (BBC) and marked his debut for Spurs with a stunning volley in front of the south stand at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to help Jose Mourinho’s side to beat Manchester City 2-0.
The 24-year-old has recently publicly revealed his desire to leave Tottenham in order to play regular first-team football (Algemeen Dagblad).

Richarlison’s arrival from Everton has pushed Bergwijn further down Antonio Conte’s pecking order and in reality, Spurs wanted to secure the arrival of Richarlison before allowing Bergwijn to depart.
It appears that Daniel Levy has squeezed a few more pounds out of the Dutch giants after The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare revealed on Twitter last month that a £21.5million fee had been agreed.
