Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have not yet given the green light for Bryan Gil to return to Valencia.
AS previously reported on Monday that Valencia had identified Gil as the man to replace Goncalo Guedes, who is expected to leave the club before the transfer window closes.
The report added that the La Liga club had reached out to the winger’s representatives, as well as Spurs, about potentially bringing the Spain international back to the Mestalla on loan.
Tribuna Deportiva journalist Hector Gomez subsequently claimed that Gennaro Gattuso’s side are in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign the 21-year-old.
Romano has now offered an update on the winger’s future, explaining that Los Che are still in talks over a deal for the player but Spurs are yet to give their approval for a transfer.
The journalist also revealed that Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo’s proposed loan move to Valencia was in danger of collapsing, which could impact Harry Winks’ future.
This is because reports from Spain have suggested that Gennaro Gattuso’s side are eyeing the Spurs midfielder as their plan B if a deal for Arthur collapses (AS).
Valencia will complete Nico deal on Thursday, documents signed with Barcelona and medical scheduled – no agreement for Arthur Melo with Juventus, deal could collapse. #Valencia

The negotiations regarding Gil should not drag on as much as the Lo Celso one, given that it is only a loan move. I would not be surprised if the 21-year-old’s return to the Mestalla is officially confirmed by next week.
