CMW.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could enter the race to sign Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
Locatelli joined Juventus in the summer of 2021 on the back of three impressive seasons for Sassuolo and starring for Italy in their successful European Championship campaign.
However, the midfielder has failed to live up to expectation since his switch to Turin, and CMW.it suggest that Massimiliano Allegri’s side could sell the 24-year-old in January.
The report explains that Tottenham are keen on tying Antonio Conte down to a new contract and are ‘willing to do everything’ to convince the Italian to commit his future to the club.
It is claimed that Conte could ask the Tottenham hierarchy to make a move for Locatelli, who is also said to be admired by Fabio Paratici.
CMW.it state that the Juventus star is also on Arsenal’s radar and that he is valued at around €35m-€40m (£30.7m-£35m).
Spurs Web Opinion
If Conte plans on using a 3-5-2 more often, Spurs perhaps need another midfield player, particularly if Pape Sarr is loaned out in January.
However, Locatelli is very similar to the central midfielders we already have. I believe we need a slightly more attack-minded midfielder to balance the squad.
