Tim Sherwood does not expect Antonio Conte to be at Tottenham next season, asserting that the Italian would have achieved something remarkable if he can help the Lilywhites finish in the top four.
Conte’s current contract at Spurs runs out at the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether the Italian is going to commit his future to the Lilywhites.
In fact, some reports have even suggested that the 53-year-old will part ways with the North Londoners at the end of the season since he wants to return to Italy to be closer to his family (Off The Ball).
The possibility of Mauricio Pochettino returning to Tottenham has been mooted as a possibility (GiveMeSport) while some sources have even suggested that the Lilywhites might pursue Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi (Football Insider).
Sherwood believes that his former club will be on the lookout for a new head coach in the summer but he insisted that Conte may walk out on a high after delivering a positive season.
When asked if he expects the 53-year-old to be at Tottenham next season, the pundit said on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast: “No. No, I really don’t.
“If they win the Champions League, which is obviously a long shot.
“If they finish in the top 4, which is once again an incredible achievement last year and there’s a few dropped away.”
“He’s done a brilliant job to take them where they are. Forget what’s done in the past, they’re 5th in the league now. They’re chasing 4th, good chance they can get there.
He added: “So, no, I don’t think he’ll be there!”

If Conte decides he wants to return to Italy for personal reasons, that is understandable and there is not much the Spurs hierarchy can do to convince him to stay if that is the case.
It remains to be seen if the 53-year-old’s decision will be influenced by the results over the next few months.
