In recent weeks, various reports have come out stating that Tottenham Hotspur intend to let Harry Kane have a say on future decisions of the club, such as appointing a new manager – if Antonio Conte does indeed depart at the end of the season (90 Min).

These reports have come out in light of Spurs wanting to tie the Englishman down to a new long-term contract (90min).

Harry Kane has been one of, if not the best, players in the history of the club. Tottenham supporters have seen a young talent come in from the academy and evolve into a world-class striker right in front of their eyes.

He’s remained at an elite level of consistency which has seen him become Spurs’ all-time top goal scorer. He has refined his game to become a prolific centre forward that can pull off passes that attacking midfielders would be proud of.

Tottenham will have many key decisions to make come the end of the season. Who will be managing the squad? Who will the director of football be? What will the futures of the current loaned-out players be? Those are just a few of the decisions chairman Daniel Levy and co. will have to make.

Given how much Kane means to Tottenham and their supporters, should he be included in the key decisions that the club will be making?

The thought process by Spurs makes sense, for once. The club wants Harry Kane to be a part of their future, whether Antonio Conte is the manager or not. But giving him a massive pay rise probably will not be enough.

Kane has given his all for the club and has said on numerous occasions that his primary goal is to win silverware with Spurs, wanting the club to match his ambitions (ESPN).

As Spurs have seemingly failed to do this over the last several years, this would be the very least that they could do for one of their own.

Daniel Levy appears to have had a rather confusing strategy over the last several years, lurching from one pragmatic manager to the next. Many fans are wondering if there even is a strategy in place.

But letting Harry Kane have a say in who the next manager should be is not a bad idea at all, given the lack of silverware that Spurs have won under the current ownership as well as their confusing recruitment.

The argument is not that Kane should be given the final say, but more that he should be included in key decisions over the Lilywhites’ future.

As mentioned previously, one of the main reasons these reports started coming out was to obtain Kane’s signature for a new contract at Spurs. Including him in discussions about the club’s future could see him put pen to paper.

The idea of being an important figure off the pitch could tempt Kane to sign a fresh, long-term deal.

Although this type of player involvement is not seen that often in modern football, it would certainly make sense if Tottenham were to go down that route.

Harry Kane has given his entire career thus far to the club, and they should, at minimum, hear his thoughts on key decisions that the club will make.
