Tottenham Hotspur are continuing their managerial search in the wake of Antonio Conte’s departure in late March.
A number of names have been linked with the vacancy in north London in recent weeks, one of which is Eintracht Frankfurt’s, Oliver Glasner.
German news outlet Bild claimed in March that Tottenham had made contact with Glasner to discuss the possibility of replacing Conte, with the 48-year-old having stalled on signing a new contract with Frankfurt.
The Bundesliga club have today released a statement on their official website in which they have confirmed that Glasner will depart Deutsche Bank Park at the end of the current campaign.
The statement read: “Eintracht Frankfurt and Oliver Glasner will part company at the end of the current season, a year before the coach’s contract was due to expire on 30 June 2024.”
Glasner added: “I accept the decision made by the club management, which was explained to me in a clear manner. The talks with Markus Krösche and Timmo Hardung were honest, open and fair, just as our communication in the last few years has always been constructive and guided by a great deal of mutual respect.
“But now is not the time to say goodbye or to look back: we still have a decisive mission ahead of us and will do everything we can in the coming weeks to make sure our performances in the final straight of the Bundesliga season lay the foundation for a fantastic final together in Berlin and to bring the DFB Cup back to Frankfurt. It’s very important to me personally that Eintracht can enjoy great nights on the European stage again in the coming season.”
Frankfurt have had a disappointing season by their own standards and are currently ninth in the Bundesliga table and seriously at risk at missing out on European football.
Glasner joined Eintracht in 2021 and helped the club win the Europa League last season.

While Glasner was mentioned more frequently in dispatches about the possibility of taking over at Spurs during Conte’s last few days in N17, it appears that there are a number of candidates who could be ahead of the German.
Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Ruben Amorim or Arne Slot among others are more likely names who we could see taking over at Tottenham next season.
