The Tottenham Hotspur squad and backroom staff will later this evening board their flight to Australia to begin their pre-season tour.
Ange Postecoglou, who was appointed as Tottenham’s new head coach last month will return to his homeland with his new side where they will face Premier League rivals West Ham United in Perth on Tuesday at 11am UK time.
Postecoglou had already confirmed to Football.London that goalkeeper Fraser Forster would not made the trip due to a back problem while Rodrigo Bentancur has also remained back in London as he continues his rehabilitation following surgery on his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in February and is not expected to return to action until November at the earliest (talkSPORT).
Winger Bryan Gil also misses out with a back problem while young striker Troy Parrott is sidelined with a groin issue. Djed Spence has recovered in time to be part of the squad.
Club captain Hugo Lloris is the most notable absentee with the goalkeeper given permission to remain behind to explore possible transfer opportunities away from the club.
Following the fixture in Perth, Spurs will make their first-ever trip to Thailand for a meeting with Leicester City at the Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, on Sunday 23 July (kick-off 5pm local time).
The tour concludes when Spurs take on Singapore Premier League side Lion City Sailors in The Tiger Cup at the Singapore National Stadium on Wednesday 26 July, 7.30pm kick-off (local time), following the withdrawal of AS Roma
