Richarlison has rubbished suggestions that he needs surgery after picking up yet another injury.
With Harry Kane now seemingly on the verge of signing for Bayern Munich (The Athletic), the responsibility of leading the line for Tottenham during the upcoming season is likely to fall squarely on Richarlison’s shoulders.
Various reports over the last couple of weeks have indicated (including from Alasdair Gold – Football.London) that the Brazilian is expected to be Spurs’ main number nine, with the North London club likely to sign a young, up-and-coming striker such as Gift Orban as a backup.
Richarlison has certainly proven during pre-season that he has the attributes to thrive upfront in Ange Postecoglou’s system, with the Australian even stating a couple of weeks ago that the former Everton man is the ideal profile for his side (BBC Sport).
Richarlison denies that he needs surgery
However, there are some rumours circulating on social media that the 25-year-old could be out for an extended period as he needs to go under the knife after picking up an injury.
The striker has now dismissed those suggestions, responding to an update from Instagram account Spurs Program with a comment that read: ‘Fake’.

While Richarlison has denied needing surgery, he certainly has cleared up whether he is nursing an injury or is fully fit. Hopefully, that part of the update is also fake as we desperately need him to lead the line at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday.
