90 min have revealed that Eric Dier could leave Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window closes, with the centre-back attracting interest from across Europe and from Saudi Arabia.
The report reveals that Tottenham are open to cashing in on Dier, who was left out of the matchday squad by Ange Postecoglou for the club’s opening game of the season against Brentford.
The centre-back, who has one year left on his contract at the North London club, is not thought to be the immediate plan of the Australian coach.
Lots of interest across the world in Spurs’ Eric Dier
The outlet claims that the defender’s former side Sporting Lisbon could look to re-sign him if in-demand defender Goncalo Inacio departs, while their cross-City rivals Benfica are also said to have their eye on the Spurs man.
A number of Bundesliga clubs as well as Ligue 1 side, Monaco, have allegedly asked Tottenham about Dier’s availability while the England international is also said to be on the radars of Crystal Palace and Scottish giants, Celtic.
Finally, 90 min add that Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr also have a ‘pressing interest’ in Dier, and unlike some of the aforementioned clubs, they would be able to pay Tottenham a generous transfer fee for the centre-back.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given Dier’s contract situation, I would not be surprised if Tottenham try and push the defender out of the door over the coming weeks.
However, I cannot see the 29-year-old giving the green light for a move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career.
