Multiple Italian outlets are now reporting that Atalanta have knocked back Tottenham’s approach for midfielder Ederson.
With Fabio Paratici continuing to work as a consultant for Tottenham, it does not come as a surprise that the Lilywhites are keeping a close eye on the players in the Italian market.
Few in Serie A have seen their stock rise as dramatically over the last six months as Ederson, with the Brazilian establishing himself as a mainstay in Gian Piero Gasperini’s midfield this season.
Over the past couple of weeks, a whole host of outlets have reported that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old as they look to strengthen their midfield department (Tutto Atalanta).
Spurs fail with an approach for Ederson
Multiple Italian publications are now reporting that the Premier League side have not had any success with their approach for Ederson.
This includes Corriere Bergamo, who say that the Serie A side has said ‘no to Tottenham’ as they have no intention of letting any of their key players leave mid-season.
This claim has also been backed up by Calciomercato, who explain that Spurs knocked on the door for Ederson but ‘there was no reaction’ from Atalanta, who want to hang on to the player until the end of the season.
Spurs Web Opinion
With time now running out in the transfer window, one would expect Tottenham to start serious talks over their top midfield targets over the next day or two. I suspect they are still waiting on Gallagher and are plotting an offer to test Chelsea’s resolve for the 23-year-old.
