RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose has admitted that he is following Timo Werner’s exploits at Tottenham and said that he is happy that things are going well for the German international in North London.
Werner has struggled for game time under Rose this season, which is why he made the decision to join Spurs on loan during the January window.
The decision has been vindicated as the German international has not only got regular football under his belt but has also proven an excellent fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system.
The 28-year-old has found the back of the net in the last two consecutive matches and it was reported by Dean Jones in his column on Sports Lens a couple of days ago that the staff at Hotspur Way have been quite impressed with the way the forward has conducted himself on and off the pitch so far.

RB Leipzig are happy for Timo Werner
Jones revealed that his sources at Spurs have indicated that the club plans on activating the £15m option to buy Werner permanently at the end of the season.
When asked about the forward’s performances and whether he has spoken to him, Rose has now said (via RTL): “We are not in contact, but of course I am following his development. He starts scoring again, this is a result of being comfortable and feeling good.
“He should keep riding the wave. Basically, he is one of our players, but Tottenham obviously have the opportunity to sign him completely.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Leipzig might be ruing their decision to add such a low option to buy to the loan deal as German is easily worth close to £25m-£30m, given his experience at the top level and the attributes he possesses.
