Arsenal fans were heard signing anti-Tottenham chants during Harry Kane’s post-match interview and the former Spurs star saw the funny side of it.
Predictable, Kane found the back of the net on his return to the Emirates Stadium, with his penalty in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal being his sixth career goal at the venue, which is the most by any opposition player (Opta Joe).
Bayern emerged from the game with a respectable 2-2 draw and they will fancy their chances of progressing to the final four, with the Gunners set to travel to the Allianz Arena next week.
Predictably, Kane and Eric Dier, who both played all 90 minutes, were subject to boos all game by the home crowd and the chanting continued after the final whistle.
Harry Kane thinks the Arsenal fans respect him
According to The Evening Standard, the striker was taunted by fans when he was giving his post-match interview. On hearing the chant, the 30-year-old joked: “I think they have a soft respect for me.”
Kane also revealed that he had done his research on David Raya’s penalty technique. When asked about his penalty, the former Spurs man said: “It was one of them when I have done a bit of research of his games against Porto. It was nice to see him go early and make it easier for me.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Arsenal fans would understandably be sick of the sight of Kane. Just when they thought they had seen the last of him after his move to Bayern, he comes back to haunt them once again. One certainly would not bet against the striker finding the back of the net again in the second leg and knocking the Gunners out.
