Tottenham Hotspur begin a very tough run of fixtures from here on out with a clash against Newcastle United this weekend. Here’s when the game is, how you can catch the action, and which players will be involved.
Ange Postecoglou‘s men are now unbeaten in three games, after defeating Luton Town two weekends ago, before drawing with West Ham in midweek. The win over Nottingham Forest last weekend took Spurs back into the top four.
The Lilywhites now have a real advantage in the race for a Champions League spot with seven Premier League games to go. However, their run-in from now until the end of the season is far from simple.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are way back in eighth place at the moment, but are still in the hunt for a European spot after defeating Fulham last weekend.
When and where is the Spurs vs Newcastle game?
Tottenham will travel to St James’ Park to face Newcastle on Saturday afternoon in the early kick-off, with a 12:30 pm slot scheduled.
How to watch Spurs vs Newcastle
You can watch Spurs take on Newcastle through TNT Sports, if you have an active subscription to the service.
Alternatively, you can wait for the highlights and analysis from BBC’s Match of the Day on Saturday night.
Spurs vs Newcastle team news
Tottenham are likely to be missing Richarlison for the trip to Newcastle, with the striker nursing a slight knee issue. If he is deemed available, he will likely be on the bench.
Aside from this, Spurs do not have any new injury problems to deal with. The trio of Fraser Forster, Ryan Sessegnon, and Manor Solomon remain long-term issues.
Newcastle are dealing with a wealth of injuries right now, however. Sven Botman and Jamal Lascelles are out for months with knee injuries, while Sandro Tonali is suspended until next season.
Meanwhile, Lewis Miley, Calum Wilson, Joelinton, Tino Livramento, and Miguel Almiron are all unavailable until next month at the earliest.
Nick Pope and Kieran Trippier are a couple of weeks away from a return, while Matt Targett and Joe Willock’s return dates are currently unknown.
The Spurs Web prediction
An away game at Newcastle is a very difficult proposition, and Newcastle are building a bit of form of late. With the games we have left, we could really do with a result here, but I think the best we can hope for is a draw. I’ll say 2-2.
