HITC have now said that Tottenham target Conor Gallagher now accepts that his time at Stamford Bridge is likely to come to an end this summer.
Although Gallagher has been a fixture in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven this season and has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers, his future remains up in the air as he is about the enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
HITC now say that although the midfielder would like to stay at his boyhood club and Pochettino would like to keep him, the player has now accepted that he might have to leave if a new deal is not offered to him.
Gallagher’s representatives are ready for a transfer
The report says that the England international has been waiting for the Chelsea hierarchy to make a contract offer but that has not arrived so far.
Given the West London club’s financial situation, Gallagher and his representatives are now said to be aware that there is a ‘distinct possibility’ that he would be put up for sale this summer.
The report adds the midfielder’s entourage accept that they might have to find a new club for their client, with Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle named as admirers of the player.
Spurs Web Opinion
Chelsea have to sell academy graduates this summer so the fee goes into their books as pure profit, and Gallagher is obviously the one who is on the chopping block.
However, the worry for Tottenham is that the Blues may prefer to sell the midfielder to West Ham or Newcastle over Spurs to avoid a backlash from their own fans.
