Tottenham could soon launch a concrete offer for the nine-goal striker
Tottenham Hotspur are now being backed to press ahead with a move for one of the hottest young strikers in European football.
The number nine role has been a problem area for Thomas Frank since the start of the season, due to the injury problems that Randal Kolo Muani and Dominic Solanke have faced.
Several journalists have suggested that signing a number nine is a priority for Tottenham in January, and one young Spaniard is thought to be on the club’s radar.
Over the last few weeks, a number of sources have reported that Spurs are keeping tabs on Porto striker Samu Aghehowa, and there has now been an update on the Lilywhites’ interest in the striker.

A new report in Sky Sports has now backed up Spurs’ interest in the 21-year-old ahead of the January window.
The outlet says that Tottenham have now turned their attention to Aghehowa, who has found the back of the net nine times in 15 appearances for Porto this season.
It is revealed that the Spainish international is seen as ‘the ideal profile for Thomas Frank’s system’ at the North London club.
The outlet adds that the Premier League side could soon ‘launch a concrete offensive’ for Aghehowa, who they hope will finally fill the void left by Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich in 2023.
How much would Spurs have to pay for Aghehowa?
It has been claimed by some sources that Fabio Paratici will spearhead Tottenham’s pursuit of the Porto man, with the Italian said to be a big fan of the young striker.
However, Aghehowa will certainly not come cheap, with the Lilywhites needing to break the bank to land the young centre-forward.
According to a recent update by TEAMtalk, although the youngster has a £87m release clause in his contract, Spurs can sign the Porto star for around £70m in January.
