Thomas Frank issues positive Dominic Solanke update as Tottenham wait on return
Thomas Frank has now provided a major update on the fitness of Tottenham Hotspur forward Dominic Solanke, who has been out for six months.
Tottenham Hotspur still have a couple of absentees in their squad at the moment due to several different reasons.
Xavi Simons has not been available in the last three games, having picked up a red card against Liverpool that saw him suspended for those fixtures.
Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are out on international duty, representing their countries at AFCON, and are unavailable to Thomas Frank.

Meanwhile, Dominic Solanke, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are out because of injuries, with the trio all having missed over six months of action.
The Tottenham boss has now provided an injury update on Solanke, who has begun taking part in team training.
Speaking about Solanke’s current condition and what he has seen since the forward returned to training, Frank explained that there are encouraging signs, while also urging patience given the length of the lay-off.
He told football.london: “Today, you could see in training he is nice and composed on the ball. In the small-sided game, he looked a bit more rusty, which is understandable after six months out. So when he is back in the hopefully near future, it will take time. Very few players come straight back in after six months out and hit the ground running.”
Spurs are still waiting on Solanke return
Frank’s update is rather mixed, as it is good to hear that Dominic Solanke is back in Tottenham training and kicking a ball, but it does sound like he is still a long way from playing competitive football.
It is worrying because no one really knows why what was a minor ankle injury has kept the forward out for as long as an ACL injury.
Spurs still have cover in the forward area with Richarlison, Muani and Tel, but when their main Harry Kane replacement can barely feature in a season, it begs the question of whether it is time for Tottenham to cut their losses and sell.
