Tottenham fans left frustrated by latest injury blow in N17, ‘See you next season’
Tottenham fans have been left frustrated once more following reports that yet another key player is set to spend an extended spell on the sidelines.
Tottenham Hotspur are already dealing with a growing list of absentees, with injuries continuing to disrupt momentum at a time when stability is badly needed.
Dominic Solanke and James Maddison remain sidelined, leaving Thomas Frank short of key attacking options, although Lucas Bergvall has returned to fitness and Xavi Simons is back available after serving a three-game suspension, providing a timely boost.
However, Spurs now face the risk of losing Mohammed Kudus after the winger picked up an injury in the Lilywhites’ clash against Sunderland last weekend.
Tottenham fans react as Mohammed Kudus faces extended spell on the sidelines
It is believed that the wide forward’s injury could be longer than initially expected, with Tottenham now looking to step up plans to sign a winger this month after scans showed that Mohammed Kudus’ issue is worse than first feared.
Tottenham fans have since reacted to the latest update on the winger’s condition, with frustration dominating the response online.
Reacting to the news, one fan said: “Spurs news is always ‘could’, ‘step up’ and still only ‘plans’. It is never ‘Spurs will buy’.” Another added: “Tottenham being Tottenham. See you next season, king. Have fun in the treatment room with the rest of our attack.”
A third supporter wrote: “Dejan Kulusevski being injured and Brennan Johnson being poor has meant that Frank irresponsibly ran Kudus into the ground. We have gone to zero options at a time when we do not even have anyone nailed down on that left-hand side. What a shambles of squad planning.”
Another kept it brief: “We are getting relegated.”
While a final fan added: “‘Could’ – are you taking the p**s? We needed a winger in summer, waited in the January window, sold a winger, now have an injured winger and now we could step up our plans. It should be a priority regardless.”
Spurs attacking depth under growing scrutiny
Spurs are gradually losing their attacking options, and that is a serious concern for Thomas Frank, whose side has looked blunt going forward in recent weeks.
Brennan Johnson has been sold and is yet to be replaced, further depleting depth in the forward line at a demanding stage of the season.
At present, Spurs have Wilson Odobert, Mathys Tel and Kolo Muani as their only wide options, which is far from ideal with fixtures coming thick and fast.
Following the sale of Johnson and the £100 million cash injection, Tottenham are expected to have at least £130 million, but they have yet to dip into that financial reserve.
