Alaskan Bush People’s Bear Brown says dad Billy’s death is the ‘hardest time’ for family and thanks fans for ‘support’

ALASKAN Bush People’s Bear Brown said his dad Billy’s tragic death is the “hardest time” for the family, as he thanks fans for their support.

Billy, 68, died at his Washington home earlier this month after suffering a seizure.

Bear took to Instagram to thank fans for their support after the patriarch’s passing.

The 33-year-old also urged followers to tell those closest to them how much they love them.

He wrote: “Hello everyone! My Mom wanted me to personally thank everybody, for all the support in this very hard time! By far the hardest time of my family, the Wolfpack! Has ever been through!

“We have received condolences from all over the world! So thank you to all y’all guys from all over the world! It means a lot to us!!!”

He continued: “Be sure to tell the people closest to you, how much you love them! You never know when you might not get the chance again!

“Also I would like to give my condolences to everyone who has lost a loved one! God bless!!!”

Bear was the one who first confirmed the sad news.

He captioned a photo of his father and his mother Ami, 57: “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure.

“He was our best friend – a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed. He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well.

“We plan to honor his legacy going forward, and to continue with his dream.”

The family called 911 after screaming at Billy to “wake up” when he slipped into unconsciousness, The Sun previously reported.

Medics tried to save him with CPR. An emergency chopper was called, but he passed away at his house.

Police officers who attended the scene interviewed Ami and the couple’s son Gabe, 31.

A spokesperson from the Washington Sheriff’s Office told The Sun: “Medics and fire were on the scene a hour and a half before the Sheriff’s Office was called. We respond to all deaths. At this point, nothing suspicious or criminal.”

Alaskan Bush People star Billy is survived by his wife and their children Matt, 36, Bam Bam, 34, Bear, Gabe, Noah, 26, Bird, 24, and Rain, 16.

Son Matt released a video explaining how he had reconciled with his dad before his passing.

He said: “I’m very lucky. Before he passed, I knew that his health problems were getting worse. And I had the hindsight to be able to reconcile with him and find closure with him before he passed.

“Now that he has, I feel good in my heart. I knew that I took the opportunity to do the right thing…”

The family left their home in Alaska due to the sudden cancer diagnosis of Ami and relocated closer to California so she could be treated at UCLA Medical Center.

They bought a 435-acre property in the North Cascade Mountains of Washington State worth $1.6 million.

Her cancer is now in remission despite being given just a three percent chance of survival.

Billy had been in and out of the hospital in recent years and was previously told by medical professionals that high altitude wasn’t good for him.

The father of seven decided to defy doctors’ orders and continue to live in the mountains with his family.
