Furious BGT fans rage at Simon Cowell after he criticises Travis George’s semi-final performance
BRITAIN’S Got Talent fans were raging after Simon Cowell criticised Travis George’s semi-final performance.
In Wednesday night’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent Travis, 22, delivered a stunning rendition of Bring Him Home from Les Misérables.
While he impressed Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli, Travis failed to win over head judge Simon.
Delivering his feedback, Simon, 63, said: “I loved your audition but for me that was playing it too safe. I thought it was too obvious.
“You’ve got a great voice and I like you a lot but I just felt like ‘yeah, of course it’s gonna be this’.
“And, I don’t know why, I thought there was going to be an extra 10, 20 percent at the end.”
As he was drowned out by deafening booing from the crowd, Simon added: “Obviously the audience are disagreeing with me but, I don’t know, I just wish I’d loved that more.”
And viewers at home rushed to social media to disagree with Simon.
One person tweeted: “Travis is an amazing singer… definitely don’t agree with Simon! It was a brilliant performance.”
Another said: “Ohhh Simon give it a rest will ya! Travis was brilliant tonight!”
Someone else wrote: “Bring Him Home is a prayer. It shouldn’t be ‘belted out’ anywhere Simon. I thought Travis sung it beautifully.”
And a fourth added: “I’m getting really fed up of this. Let’s hope Travis gets all the votes he deserves, he certainly gets mine.”
