‘It’s the only thing that ensures they never come back’ cleaner swears by £10 hack to get rid of ants for good
ANTS can be tricky to get rid of once they find their way into your home, but cleaning fans have shared a £10 trick to make sure they don’t come back.
Ants usually stay underground during the colder months, so as the weather warms up you might spot them around your home or in your garden.
The cleaning fans shared the method they swear by to banish ants for good[/caption] Ants can find their way into your home during the warm summer months[/caption]This comes after one keen cleaner took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Army Facebook group to ask for advice getting rid of the pests.
She said: “I have an ant infestation and I used vinegar. It works for some hours but by the next day, the ants are back.
“What else can I use?”
Many cleaning fans suggested the product Ant Stop, which is a simple bait box that can be used indoors or outside.
One fan of the product wrote: “My dad swears by these. He tried everything, then got told about this and he has no ant problem now.”
“I use Ant Stop. It’s smell free, mess free, not harmful to pets and never had an ant in the house again,” a second agreed.
“I used to use white vinegar, but Ant Stop works so much better. I haven’t had a problem since,” someone else added.
“I’m a domestic cleaner and I have had customers that were struggling with ants recently and I always recommend Ant Stop,” wrote another.
“It is the only thing that works instantly and makes sure the ants never come back.”
And a fellow cleaning fan insisted they “haven’t seen an any since using it.”
Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “Ant Stop. swear by it. They never came back. You need to find out where they are coming from and put it down there.”

Speaking to the Mirror, Fiona explained that “boiling water is one of the most effective methods”.

“You may need to repeat this a few times until all of the ants are exterminated.”
If you are worried about ants descending onto your home, here’s what you should do:
- Store all food away, ideally in airtight containers, in cupboards or in the fridge.
- Don’t leave food out in the open air, always cover and store away if possible.
- Clean up any food and drink spills as soon as they occur.
- Keep the house clean, remember to keep cupboards clean too.
- Wash pet bowls regularly, remember ants are partial to cat and dog food too!
- Take out your rubbish regularly.
- Clean your entire kitchen with a natural, homemade anti-ant spray, made with one part water and one part vinegar to destroy their pheromones and present infestations.
