The solicitor – who is played by actor Emile John in the ITV soap – was the victim of a hit and run tonight and it was clearly revenge.

But it emerged that Ethan hadn’t just not shown up – he had been brutally mowed down by a hit and run and left for dead in the road outside the village.
Bloodied and badly injured, Ethan was forced to drag himself back to the village where he collapsed in front of the horrified villagers.
Manpreet rushed to help him with Charles and Claudette crowding round and the vicar was in no doubt who was responsible.
And later it was confirmed when Ruby let herself into Ethan’s house and issue a chilling threat.
“Door was open, I thought I’d see how you were doing,” she said.
“After being run over?” Ethan snapped, adding: “I could see it was you behind the wheel.”
She told him: “Kind of the point.”
“I hope we’re square,” he said delusionaly the woman whose son is still fighting for his life in a coma because of Ethan’s actions.
And Ruby told him: “Really? Well thanks for asking but Nicky’s still in a coma and they won’t be trying to wake him today so do you really think we’re even stevens?”
“You drove a car at me!” Ethan shouted.
