Man accused of shooting and killing woman arraigned on murder charge
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A man accused of shooting and killing a woman on South Ogden Street on Thursday was arraigned on a murder charge Friday afternoon, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
Officials said Rickey Crouch, 49, shot 44-year-old Amanda Thompson with an illegal gun at the victim's residence shortly after midnight.
Thompson was Crouch's ex-girlfriend, according to officials.
Crouch was previously charged with burglary among other charges after he allegedly broke into Thompson's home with a gun back in May. He was released and violated an order of protection the next day, officials said.
He was arraigned on an indictment charging him with one count of second-degree murder and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Sentencing has yet to be scheduled. He was held without bail and faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
