Nate Marton leaving role as Buffalo Department of Public Works Commissioner
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Department of Public Works Commissioner Nate Marton is stepping down.
Marton has served the City of Buffalo since November 2022. In his position he oversees new construction of city-owned buildings, roadway construction and maintenance, the water department, the animal shelter, city parks, and more.
"Commissioner Marton joined the city in late 2022 under the previous administration and was immediately tested by the historic blizzard of 2022," said Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon. "Through it all, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to the residents of Buffalo and to the success of our city."
Deputy Commissioner Nolan Skipper will be taking over on Monday as Acting Department of Public Works Commissioner.
Marton thanked Scanlon and former Mayor Byron Brown for the opportunity and called it a "privilege" to serve the citizens of Buffalo.
He will be taking a new job after being approached by his future employer a few months ago. It is unknown where or what that will be.
