‘DRAGGED ME DOWN THE STREET’: Watch journalist in dangerous situation as ‘Somali thugs’ allegedly steal his $1,000 camera

In a harrowing incident caught on video, independent journalist Nick Sortor had his $1,000 camera stolen on Sunday allegedly by “Somali thugs,” and was dragged down a Minneapolis street by the vehicle racing away with the device.
Sortor and fellow journalist Cam Higby were documenting anti-ICE protests in the city when the incident occurred, with Higby recording the alleged theft on his own camera.
The suspects sped down an icy sidewalk, and Sortor’s hand became caught in a door handle as he was attempted to retrieve his camera.

“Somali thugs in Minneapolis just stole @nicksortor’s camera and then fled from him by driving down an icy sidewalk,” Higby wrote on X.
“Bystanders insisted we have to leave, and don’t belong in Minnesota. They followed Sortor’s vehicle for roughly 30 minutes, honking.”
Sortor himself posted: “A group of Somali thugs just ROBBED me of my $1,000 camera in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis.”
“They then DRAGGED ME DOWN THE STREET as my hand got trapped in their door handle NOBODY bothered helping DHS MUST RAID THIS PLACE!”
The FBI Rapid Response responded to Sortor on X, with a brief message saying: “We’re on it.”
Sortor celebrated the response, noting: “The FBI is now involved in the investigation of the Somalis who robbed me of my $1,000 camera and dragged me down the sidewalk LET’S GO!!! We will NOT surrender to these thugs! Thank you, @FBIDirectorKash and @FBI_Response!”

Fellow journalists praised Sortor for his actions.
“Another attempted murder but gotta say I’m impressed by Nick Sortor’s ability to hold on for that long. The Somalis could never!” said Katie Daviscourt of the Post Millennial.
Andy Ngo of the Post Millennial added: “This is insane. Thank you for documenting the dangerous attack from these extremists and thugs. You kept it cool even as they lied to try to incite violence against you.”
Sortor also shared video of a Minneapolis police officer telling him: “You guys do not need to be in this area.”

Sortor responded on X, saying: “INFURIATING: After Somali thugs commit FELONY ROBBERY against me, Minneapolis Police tell me *I’M* the problem and *I* need to leave.
“NO. REFUSING to arrest Somali thieves is EXACTLY WHY America is in this situation to begin with. I’m DOUBLING DOWN, and I WILL NOT LEAVE.”
Last week, as WorldNetDaily reported, Sortor was attacked by Minneapolis rioters, getting blasted with death threats even as his vehicle was vandalized by an out-of-control mob.
