Renamed Boy Scouts now agree to eliminate DEI from programs
The organization formerly known as the Boy Scouts is making a long list of changes, highlighted by its confession that it will eliminate “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” ideologies from its programs, apparently under threat that the War Department would sever links.
The organization, after more than a century of serving boys and teaching them citizenship qualifications, in the last few years had changed its name to the politically correct Scouting America, and had created scandals in multiple locations by allowing girls who think they are boys to participate.
Fox News reported that agenda now is being rewound.
It explained War Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed he was “very seriously” thinking about ending the military’s support because of the “woke” ideology being taught.
But he said he’s reconsidered given the group’s confirmation it is changing.
The Department of War has officially put Scouting America on notice.

“First, Scouting America has agreed to comply immediately with the provisions of Executive Order 14173. This includes reviewing and replacing politicized, divisive, and discriminatory language throughout the organization, programs, and all publications. No more DEI, zero,” Hegseth said.
The DEI merit badge also has been canceled, and membership “will be based solely on biological sex at birth and not gender identity.”
“Scouting will also make clear that biological boys and girls will not be allowed to occupy or share intimate spaces together. Toilets, showers, tents, anywhere like that,” he said.
There also will be required accommodations, like waiving registration fees, for children of active duty, guard and reserve families, he said.
The scouting group said, “Today we are moving forward with implementing new programmatic elements that deliver on that mission: waiving registration fees for military families, launching a new merit badge focused on military service and veterans, and reinforcing our commitment to Scouting’s foundational ideas: leadership, character, duty to God, duty to country and service.”
Officials also said the review of the scouting group’s actions will be ongoing.
It was only a year ago Boy Scouts announced a name change to Scouting America.
The organization is careful of its financial support, as it emerged only a short time ago from a bankruptcy tied to child sex abuse allegations.
