JAMIE VARDY silenced Sheffield United fans as the Leicester striker scored in front of the Kop as the Foxes won at Bramall Lane.
The ex-England striker – a Sheffield Wednesday fan – opened the scoring on 38 minutes after a sublime through ball by James Madison put his team-mate in on goal.
Vardy made no mistake with the finish as his left-footed finish inside the box was smashed past Blades keeper Dean Henderson.
Having received constant stick from the home fans throughout the first-half, Leicester’s No9 celebrated his strike in front of the Bramall Lane faithful with his hands cupped behind his ears.
It comes as redemption for playmaker Madison, whose assist comes a week after he missed a golden chance to win the game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Chris Wilder’s men got themselves back in the game on 62 minutes as substitute Oliver McBurnie levelled.
McBurnie converted from a cross out wide with the build up play rounded off with a bullet header.

The equaliser was soon cancelled out as midfielder Harvey Barnes – who replaced Dennis Praet on 64 minutes – scored the winner six minutes after coming onto the pitch.
Following a cleared cross from Christian Fuchs, Barnes hit a superb half-volley to regain Leicester’s lead.
Foxes keeper Kasper Schmeichel made superb save on 75 minutes to deny John Lundstram after a volleyed effort but Billy Sharp was later ruled offside in the build up.
