Chelsea face transfer battle with Southampton and Spurs for Linfield’s teen striker Charlie Allen
CHELSEA are keen on Linfield teenage sensation Charlie Allen but face a fight to sign the talented midfielder.
The 15-year-old forward has already had trials at Manchester City and Tottenham.
And now Chelsea – along with Southampton and Norwich – have joined the Premier League clubs in the race for his signature.
The Blues are also keen to take the youngster on trial and will want to act quickly if they are to secure his services before his other Premier League suitors.
Northern Irish champions Linfield are resigned to the fact their star man will soon leave, according to Football Insider.
Tottenham were favourites to land Allen earlier in the year but the emergence of other Premier League interest has complicated their chances.
Allen became Linfield’s youngest ever player aged 15 years, 5 months and 5 days when he played for the club in April 2019 in a 1–1 draw with Coleraine
He even set teammate Daniel Reynolds up for Linfield’s goal.
The youngster does not turn 16 until November but has already been described as “one of the brightest prospects ever” by Linfield academy director Glenn Ferguson.

Only last Friday it was reported Frank Lampard’s Blues “had ambushed attempts” from their rivals to secure the teen.
Reports claimed Chelsea asked Linfield for permission to take him on trial.
The Stamford Bridge outfit’s coaching staff want to take a closer look at the youngster as they consider a swoop.
