Unbeaten Military March to be trained with Classics in mind by Saeed bin Suroor
SAEED Bin Suroor is dreaming big with unbeaten two-year-old Military March.
The colt made it a perfect 2-2 with a gutsy victory in the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
He stayed on dourly under Oisin Murphy to beat fellow Godolphin runner Al Suhail in the Group 3 contest.
On that evidence, and on breeding, he will relish a step up in distance next season.
And Bin Suroor is hoping a winter in Dubai will tee him up nicely for a Classic campaign, with the 2000 Guineas and the Derby both likely targets.
He said: “He’s come out of the race well – he’s happy and fresh. He’s a big, strong horse – and it was nice the way he finished his race. He’s a horse for next year.

“He’ll go to Dubai, I think, but I’m not sure we’re going to run him on dirt. It depends what other horses we have.
“All the Classic races out there, the Guineas Trial, the Guineas and the Derby are all on dirt – so we’ll see what else we have.
“He’s a nice colt. He’s improved, because he was weak early. He had two months between his races and he improved a lot – he’s stronger.
“He’ll be coming back to England next year and look at the Classics and the Dante.”
