Kimika Miyoshi to defend Japanese female title on November 13th!
Earlier today we were informed that Japanese Female Featherweight champion Kimika Miyoshi (15-12-1, 6) [三好喜美佳] will be back in the ring on November 13th to make her next defense defense of the title on the Kawasaki Nitta gym promoted "Hopeful Fight 33".
Miyoshi, who won the title last September when she defeated Miki Mitsuda, will be looking for her second defense here when she takes on Yoshie Wakasa (6-2, 2) [若狭与志枝].
The 36 year old Miyoshi is one of the true stalwarts of the Japanese female boxing scene. She made her debut back in 2008 and with 28 bouts to her name she's had a long and notable career. She hasn't managed to win a world title, despite fighting in a number of world title bouts, but is a 3-weight OPBF female champion and is obviously a current Japanese female champion.
Wakasa on the other hand is a 32 year old who began her career with 6 straight wins, but has lost her last two, coming up short to Miyo Yoshida in March 2019, in a Japanese female Bantamweight title bout, and losing in OPBF Female Featherweight bout in September, to Wakako Fujiwara.
Miyoshi will be the favourite, given her experience and current form, but this is certainly not a gimme for the champion.
