BKFC 21 full results: Mike Richman knocks down Dakota Cochrane five times before second-round stoppage
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship returned on Friday evening and MMA Junkie is provided live and official results throughout the entire fight card.
BKFC 21 took place at the Ralston Arena in Omaha, Nebraska, the first time the state hosted a bare-knuckle event. The main card aired on BKFC TV app and Fite TV pay-per-view, following free preliminary bouts on MMA Junkie.
Bare-knuckle boxing took center stage on Friday with no major MMA promotions in action. However, the event was filled with names familiar to MMA fans, as a number of the sport’s veterans took off the gloves to compete inside the BKFC ring.
UFC veterans Houston Alexander, Wes Combs, Jason High, Ryan Roberts were all in action on Friday evening.
The main event saw two Bellator veterans throw down as Dakota Cochrane met Mike Richman at 170 pounds.
Richman didn’t waste much time inflicting pain on Cochrane, as he immediately poured on the pressure when the fight began, focusing on heavy body shots.
Throughout the first round, Richman sent Cochrane to the canvas a total of four times. There is no three knockdown rule in BKFC fights, so the fight continued into the second round after Cochrane was able to return to his feet at the end of the first.
When the second round started, Richman continued his dominance and knocked down Cochrane one final time, scoring the knockout victory 37 seconds into the frame.
Cochrane entered the contest undefeated through three bareknuckle bouts, but suffered his first loss in devastating fashion. Richman remains undefeated and improves to 2-0-1 bareknuckle competition.
