Ex-Man Utd ace Hernandez admits failing as husband after split from stunning wife Sarah Kohan in tell-all interview
JAVIER HERNANDEZ has admitted to failings as a father and partner following his painful split from stunning wife Sarah Kohan.
The ex-Man United and West Ham star also revealed his depression brought on by personal tribulations including the death of his beloved grandfather.
The 33-year-old, whose wife sparked split reports by jetting to her native Australia with their two children last year, didn’t mention Kohan by name in his interview.
But he told US website The Ringer: “I wasn’t the best partner I needed to be, I wasn’t the greatest dad that I wanted to be.
“I wasn’t a great friend. I wasn’t the great human being I wanted to be.”
The LA Galaxy striker’s sister Ana Silvia, speaking about the death of their ex-pro footballer grandad Tomas Balcazar 17 months ago added: “It kind of broke him.
“I don’t know how he managed to get through that season. It was like all his world collapsed in a minute.”
Hernandez has persistently dodged questions about his relationship with the mother of his two children Noah and Nala.

The couple celebrated Noah’s second birthday together in June with a party they organised, with Sarah publishing snaps on her social media.
The birthday bash took place around the time US website TMZ Sports reported Hernandez’s wife had filed for divorce.
The website also claimed the influencer WAG had presented divorce papers in February, claiming her footballer partner did not participate in the day-to-day parenting of his two kids.
She reportedly demanded £73,000 a month for ‘child and spousal support’.
Chicarito described his late grandad as his “second father” and revealed he lost the will to wake up, eat and make his bed after his death.
He even admitted he would cry while training alone during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Claiming he realised at the worst point of his depression he had been playing up to the ‘Chicharito’ character, he said: “I had to learn how to accept myself.
“People always identified me not by me, but something else.
“I played a character because that’s what we ask of famous people.”
Admitting he told friends he had considered quitting football for good at the end of last season, the Guadalajara-born striker added: “I’ve always been very sensitive.
“A lot of times I tried to hide it. I realised I had to… I’m not the tallest. I’m not very big. I’m not very stereotypically masculine.
“We see a man cry, we think he’s weak, but we are all human.”
Hernandez bounced back in September after missing 12 games with a calf injury with a goal against Salt Lake City.
He scored a second-half penalty against FC Dallas last weekend to help his team to a 2-2 draw after they went down 2-0.
The LA Galaxy star moved to MLS on a three-year contract in January last year.
He referred to his determination to prove his doubters wrong by posting on Instagram: “Preparing mind, body and spirit is the ritual to face daily challenges.
“You always have to choose to believe.”
