Conor McGregor and Johnny Depp share a whiskey as UFC star and Dee Devlin meet ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor in Rome
CONOR MCGREGOR and movie star Johnny Depp have shared a whiskey together.
McGregor met with the actor while on holiday in Rome, and encouraged the former ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star to try his ‘Proper 12’ whiskey.
The UFC ace posted a series of photos of his encounter with Depp, whom he thanked for his hospitality, on Instagram.
He said: “Myself and John Depp enjoying a fine glass of Proper Twelve on the rocks.
“Thank you for your kindness and hospitality towards my friends and family Johnny! A proper gentleman.”
In the series of snaps, Depp can be seen posing with both McGregor and the Irishman’s partner Dee Devlin, while he was seen arm-in-arm with Conor’s mother, Margaret.
In the comments, Conor’s sister, Aoife, lamented that she was not there for the chance encounter, saying: “In the depps of it I wasn’t there.”
Despite fans joking that McGregor appeared to be forcing Depp to have some of his whiskey, the photographs suggested that the two did enjoy a drink whilst in each other’s company.

Seemingly in response to his meeting with Depp, McGregor revealed that he had dressed up as Jack Sparrow – the character whom the actor played in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise – for Halloween.
Their encounter came while McGregor and his family were in Italy for the Christening of his son, Rian.
The holiday ended in contentious fashion, however, when he was accused of punching an Italian DJ, breaking his nose in the process.
The DJ in question has since launched an official police complaint against the former UFC champion.
This joins a personal injury claim made against McGregor by a separate individual, which is due to be heard next year.
McGregor has denied all claims of wrongdoing against him.
