Gary Lineker takes cheeky dig at Sky Sports over coverage of Man City’s demolition of Man Utd
GARY LINEKER took a cheeky dig at Sky Sports’ post-match coverage of Manchester City’s demolition of their rivals Manchester United.
The defending Premier League champions beat the Red Devils 4-1 at the Etihad to extend their lead at the top of the table.
And The Match of the Day presenter was watching Roy Keane, Jamie Redknapp and Micah Richards’ analysis of the game – which was mainly focussed around Man Utd’s woes instead of Man City’s brilliance.
The England legend joked on Twitter: “Controversial, but I think Man City is worthy of a mention.”
Many fans agreed with Lineker’s light-hearted assessment of Sky’s coverage.
One said of Man City: “The best club in the world.”
Another said: “City are currently a well run club at the top of their game like Liverpool.”
Man Utd’s hopes of a top-four finish are in doubt as Arsenal leapfrogged them in the table with a 3-2 win over relegation strugglers Watford.

The Gunners hold a one-point advantage over United AND they have three games in hand.
United’s lack of fight left legend Keane seething.
Keane said: “The worst thing you can say about Man Utd is that they gave up, in any game to give up is unforgivable really.
“The beauty with top level sports is that there is no hiding place, I know United have come here in the last couple years and done well but we saw all of United’s shortcomings today.
“There’s ways to lose football matches, we’ve all lost football matches but the way United lost today – they stopped running, they gave up, players not running back, that’s what I don’t understand.”
Midfielder Scott McTominay expressed his disappointment to the comments of some of United’s legends.
In his post-match interview, the Scotland international said: “From my point of view, on the pitch, it’s hard to see what’s going on around you but if that’s what people are saying then so be it.
“They’re all entitled to their own opinion but, for myself, it’s incredibly disappointing if people think that.
“I’ll have to watch it back and see body language and things like that but, for myself, it hurts.
“If you give a team like that all the time in the world in the second half, you’re gonna get punished. It’s as simple as that.”
