Brutal Revenge: Bears Fan Sneaks ‘Bear Down’ Song Into Every Green Bay Bar After Crushing Packers Loss
Earthquakes do the most damage to a city when they hit. However, sometimes the aftershocks are almost as bad. The Chicago Bears shook the Green Bay Packers to their foundation on Saturday night. After 30 years of near ceaseless dominance, that team up north tasted the worst kind of defeat at the hands of their supposed doormat. After leading 21-3 in the first half, Green Bay surrendered 25 points in the 4th quarter, including two Caleb Williams touchdown passes, to go down in flames 31-27.
The look of utter devastation on the field was impossible to miss. Packers players couldn’t believe it. They’d talked all week about how they would get their revenge and reinstate the proper order of things. What happened last month won’t happen again. Not only did it happen again, but it was even worse this time. Most Green Bay fans weren’t alive the last time the Bears beat their team in a meaningful game. They weren’t ready for it.
They also weren’t ready for the aftermath. Most Bears fans gleefully trolled their counterparts in the traditional way through social media. One twisted individual decided to take things up a notch by playing “Bear Down, Chicago Bears” on the music system of every bar in the Green Bay/Milwaukee area.
Just diabolical stuff.
Chicago Bears fans can be nasty when they want.
Trash talk in its purest form is great, especially for those who thrive at it. This is a form of psychological warfare. Packers fans watching the Bears win is bad enough. Having to listen to that fight song you know they hate while trying to drink their sorrows away in masterclass stuff. The fact that Green Bay fans are whining about the blowback is more than a little hypocritical, too. They didn’t mind rubbing it in Bears fans’ faces for years. Now that they’re getting a taste, it’s classless and juvenile.
To quote the great Dave Attell, “Just pull back your mullet and take it.” The Chicago Bears weren’t a true rival of Green Bay for almost three decades. Now that they are, it’s a problem. If you don’t like it, petition the league to leave the NFC North. It wouldn’t be much different than trying to get the Tush Push outlawed after it beat you last year.
