Roma wrap up Baldanzi sale to Genoa as they eye Venturino in return
Roma’s January reshuffle continues to take shape, with Tommaso Baldanzi set to leave the club after an agreement was reached with Genoa.
Following the arrivals of Donyell Malen and Robinio Vaz, and the early termination of Leon Bailey’s loan, Roma have now finalised another outgoing move, as per the Corriere dello Sport.
Baldanzi said his goodbyes to teammates on Tuesday morning and is preparing to begin a new chapter under Daniele De Rossi at Genoa.
Baldanzi leaves Roma as Giallorossi eye Venturino
The 2003-born midfielder struggled to carve out a consistent role in the capital and the club felt the timing was right to move him on, particularly as Roma continue to adjust their squad both for the present and with an eye on the future.
What helped unlock the deal was Roma’s growing interest in Lorenzo Venturino, a player the club rate highly and would like to bring to Trigoria.
The two operations are being discussed in parallel, with the exact structure of the transactions still being finalised.
