Failed Pit Manoeuvre by the Swiss Police in Geneva
The first call arrived at the police headquarters on Tuesday at 7:10 am: in the airport sector a car drives dangerously on the highway towards France. A few minutes later, the vehicle is again reported, downtown this time, at the bridge of the Coulouvreni`ere. "The driver multiply offenses such as unsuitable speed, crossing the double line and misinterpretation".
Alerted, several police patrols are looking for the car to French plates. "A first visual contact is established at 7:18 on the road to Saint-Julien," says the police. At the sight of the blue lights, the driver puts the gas. A chase starts during which the vehicle fails to enter a police barrage and near a high-speed, contra-flow, a normal cyclist.
The car is swerving
The cross-border alarm is triggered and police cars continue the pursuit on French territory. The chase ended shortly afterwards: the fleeing vehicle sank in a roundabout in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois (F) mucking a law enforcement vehicle. Geneva police arrest five of the six occupants. The last passenger will be stopped a little later by their French counterparts.
