ADNAN OKTAR: Misogynists use an inappropriate tone towards well-groomed women. They insult women who look beautiful. But when a woman looks ugly, they feel at ease and do not even utter a single word. When I go out on the street, I see that the majority of the dear young girls are poorly groomed and look skinny. This is because they do not feel the need to take care of themselves. They know that when they look beautiful, people will throw horrible insults at them. Therefore, some of them prefer looking ugly and poorly groomed. Some girls are not concerned with how skinny, how frail their bodies are. And some others are not concerned with having extra weight. These are the grave, undesirable consequences of the oppression and persecution towards women. And it ultimately leads some men towards homosexuality. Because in the absence of beautiful women, love and longing towards women, some men resort to foul, vile behavior instead of leading pure lives. The Qur'an depicts such behavior as foul and vile. I am a Muslim, as well. But, of course, I do not deviate from the path of God. Thanks to God, we intervene when necessary. For example, no one could object to homosexuality in the entire history of the Republic of Turkey. We are overwhelming them at every turn. We are showing them how wrong their beliefs are. We do not imply destroying them, attacking them, or inflicting violence on them. We do not imply they should suffer oppression. What we seek is to warn them and do what is necessary through wisdom, knowledge, law and legislation.
