If you look closely at the ultra-pricey custom truck industry, you’ll notice a few trends. For one, money doesn’t always buy taste, and two, bespoke truck builders just can’t stop making six-wheeled monster pickups with obscene amounts of power. Southern California-based Rezvani has jumped on the dual rear-axle bandwagon with the apocalypse-ready Hercules 6×6.
Picking up where the almost-as-bonkers Rezvani Tank SUV left off, the Hercules 6×6 adds a truck bed, a 1,300-hp supercharged 7.0-liter V-8 based on the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon crate engine, and, most importantly, another pair of wheels and on-demand six-wheel drive. Since the Rezvani Tank is a custom-bodied, highly modified Jeep Wrangler, it’s probably a safe guess that the Hercules starts life as a Jeep Gladiator pickup. But beyond sharing its basic platform with the Jeep truck, the Rezvani Hercules is a very different animal.
The Demon engine is bored and stroked from 6.2 to 7.0 liters, and gains a forged stroker crankshaft, forged pistons, and a new camshaft. With those upgrades, the supercharged V-8 makes 1,300 hp and 989 lb-ft of torque. Mated to it is a heavy-duty version of the ubiquitous eight-speed automatic transmission produced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. That drivetrain combo is offered on the top-trim Hercules 6×6 model, which also offers standard six-wheel drive—as the name implies. Drivers can choose to send power to two, four, or all six wheels depending on the situation. Other FCA-sourced engine options are available, including a 285-hp 3.6-liter V-6 and turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 with 442 lb-ft of torque, but something tells us the 7.0-liter will be the option that most impresses Rezvani clientele. If you’re gonna go large, go large.
Just like the Rezvani Tank, the Hercules 6×6 is available in a fully armored configuration. Called the Military Edition, this version features Kevlar armor, bulletproof glass, undercarriage protection from explosives, “military-grade” run-flat tires, an armored radiator, and protection from electromagnetic pulse attacks. Security measures are taken to even more ridiculous extremes with electrified door handles, an external smokescreen, and onboard gas masks. We’re not saying this truck is made for drug kingpins, but who needs this kind of protection apart from the actual military and Gus Fring from Breaking Bad?
If driving a six-wheeled, thief-electrocuting armored vehicle is your thing, you’re going to need money—and lots of it. The Rezvani Hercules 6×6 starts at $225,000. Yes, starts at. As in that price gets you the wimpy Pentastar V-6. If you want the Military Edition, that one will run you at least $325,000. But that’s pocket change to someone like the Chicken Man.
