Saturday Night Slam Series celebrates student poets, Black History Month
BYU students gathered at the Wall Saturday night to perform their personal poetry and recite work in honor of Black History Month. Maddie Taylor, an event director, talked about whyslam poetry appeals to such a wide audience. “Because slam poetry has certain allowances you can’t do on paper, and it has certain ways of expressing emotion in ways that aren’t tied directly to literature.
