Dino Melaye goes tough on APC, tells ruling party to start building instead of making accusation

The lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district in the Senate, Dino Melaye, has advised his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on how to change Nigeria.
NAIJ.com gathers that the senator took to Facebook on Monday, April 2 to offer the advise, which he titled Otito koro (truth is bitter).

In his advice to the ruling party, Melaye said: "You never change a country by fighting the existing reality you meet on ground. To change a country, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete. Stop accusation and start building."

Recall that Melaye has been at loggerhead with his party in recent times. The senator claimed that the APC has failed Nigerians.
The senator stated this when he was named the Legislator of the Year 2017 at the Daily Asset Newspaper maiden annual awards.
Melaye said Nigeria was not practicing democracy but what he called ‘greedocracy’. He said Nigerians were suffering and smiling while the elite continue to divide the citizens along tribal lines.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Senator Dino Melaye, called out his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the huge amount of money it borrowed in the three years of the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
Melaye made the statement during plenary on Wednesday, March 7, as he called a Point-of-Order on the Peace Corps bill currently before the president for assent.
He stated: "Without fear or favour, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 16 years, borrowed N6 trillion and this government in three years, has borrowed N11 trillion but there is no specific programme that will empower the youth."
