Utah high school evacuated after students sickened by odor
PLEASANT VIEW, Utah (AP) — A northern Utah high school has been evacuated after several students got sick due to an unknown odor.
The Standard-Examiner newspaper in Ogden reports classes have been canceled at Weber High School as authorities investigate the source of the smell that sickened five students at a medical anatomy class Monday morning.
Weber School District spokesman Lane Findlay says more students came forward with symptoms after medical crews arrived. He says "a couple" of students were taken to area hospitals to treatment, but he didn't immediately have exact numbers.
Findlay said North View Fire is investigating and the cause is "not obvious." The source of the odor is unknown as well.
