Lauren Lynch reports the latest news from Wimbledon. Rafael Nadal and Venus Williams won their matches on Day 3 in front of Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla. There were no big upsets but some good matches. Venus has been wearing an interesting outfit selection and she explains her fashion. Rafael Nadal’s parents have been seen together at the Championships and rumor has it they are back together after their 2007 divorce.

I have to admit, I never heard of Ryan Dunn prior to his tragic death on Monday morning; although I vaguely had heard of a show called “Jackass” on MTV (a network I have not watched in twenty years). Yet, after having observed the media clamor surrounding Dunn’s death, I am impressed by his popularity and the grief and sorrow his passing has elicited. Also, at the risk of overstepping the bounds of good taste (a la Roger Ebert), something else occurred to me: Dunn died the way a real rock star/celebrity should.
When I first came to New York two years ago, I had to have a real New York-style bagel. I went to an H&H Bagels on the Upper West Side and bought myself one sesame seed bagel. Biting into its golden crust, with roasted sesames, I nearly broke a tooth, because it was so terribly stale. Whatever I was able to chew was entirely flavorless. A disappointing dining experience, to say the least.
